The trademark "DOM" - how it began....
It all began in Domstraße 12: here, right in the heart of Cologne, Josef Voss founded a trading company in 1936 which sold industrial hardware, including locks, under his name. Immediately after the war, the company established itself in Brühl, and Josef Voss took a forward-looking step: he entered the field of cylinder and lock production. In memory of the company's beginnings in the shadow of Cologne Cathedral, Josef Voss named his locks "DOM". They quickly became the trademark of Josef Voss KG, which was consequently renamed DOM Sicherheitstechnik GmbH & Co.KG in 1976.
